The Holding

We were at Eilean Donan Castle. It had been raining all day. From the castle's terrace, I looked out onto the loch, and I saw the most beautiful foggy landscape I've ever seen. The white fog and its reflection on the water of the loch reminded me of the beauty of stillness and emptiness. What seemed to be an emptiness was not a real emptiness. And I began to fall in love with fog and dreich weather again and again.
